A Message from Our Principal…
As the Principal of Lacoste Elementary School, I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic and behavioral standards for all students and providing a positive and safe learning environment. By continuing to promote a positive school climate, setting high standards, and involving parents and the community, the students of Lacoste Elementary School will continue to… “Learn in a unique way, building their future everyday!”
The Pre K-4 students at Lacoste Elementary School are currently learning about different types of community helpers. Mrs. Woodward invited Parish President Guy McInnis to come and speak to her class about being a "Community Helper." After speaking to the students, President McInnis presented each student a parish badge.
Mrs. Cole's Second Grade Class worked very hard on running in a mock election for class president. The students came to school dressed in their best to present their speeches with their campaign posters. We had six students give their speeches each day. After each set of speeches the class presented their voters registration cards and cast their ballots for the candidates. After the third day of speeches, the top three nominees were in the class president run off. Madison Reilly got the most nominations and accepted the title of Mrs. Cole's "mock" class president. The students were excellent team players and learned a lot on out the election process!
